The final weekend of the Fantasy Golf season produced an avalanche of points scoring. Firstly congratulations to Rachael McGregor of Duff House GC who’s team earned an amazing 3,615 points in Dubai. To her goes the final fourball of the season. To the remaining top weekly scorers shaded today go a dozen Callaway balls each.
In Dubai, Lee Westwood was unstoppable finishing off with a course record 64. It was his 32nd victory worldwide and his second victory on The European Tour this season. The win moves Westwood up to world number four in the official world golf rankings, matching his highest career position.
The overall Fantasy Golf winner is….Goeff Pryor of Gloucester has valiantly clung onto overall top position and therefore can claim a weekend for four at Gleneagles – many congratulations Goeff.
Runner up is Jim McGee of Kilmarnock (Barassie) who has charged into 2nd position and takes the new set of irons, woods, putter and bag from Callaway. For the remainder of those near the top “well played” however it’s a case of “close but no cigar”
The top golf club in The Scotsman’s Fantasy Golf is Lothian’s outfit MCBA, who have been rampant this season and rightly can begin planning their outing to Gleneagles.
The top Mini-League in the summer/autumn season was “Club Class” Kevin Muir, Sam David, Colin Heggie, Shaun Cooper, Nigel Dodds and Adrian Nelson. These 6 will have to fight over the fourball they have won for being the top mini-league.
