If you need a little help with your Fantasy Golf team, check out the FAQ's and you'll probably find your answer. We've got advice on almost everything you need to know about:

Getting Started

HELP! I can't log on !
Check that your browser (or maybe office firewall) is set up to accept 'Session Cookies' by checking your browser security settings. You do this with Internet Explorer via Tools / Internet Options / Security. Choose “default level”. The default setting allows session cookies (these are only stored while you are on our site, and are then deleted). If you still can't log on you might be typing in the wrong username or password!

I played last year but can’t remember my password
Please use the forgotten password facility. Simply enter the email address you used when you played last year and we will re-send your password.

The game doesn't display properly. 
If you are using a Mac computer try setting your browser to Firefox. If you are having further problems, write to our tech department by selecting 'Contact Us' in the left hand menu.

The writing is really small, how can I make it bigger? 
We have modified the site to comply with DDA guidelines. If the writing is appearing very small you can amend the text by visiting the 'View' option on your browser window. Choose 'Text size' and move the text size move to medium.

When does the game start ? 
Fantasy golf’s spring league 2009 tees off at the WGC-CA Championship, on 12th March 2009, and runs to the US Open on the 21st June. The game then breaks for 2 weeks allowing you to pick a new team before resuming at the Open de France ALSTOM . The summer/autumn league then runs through to the Dubai World Championships which ends on 22nd November 2009.   The full list of events that the game will be based on can be seen by selecting 'Upcoming Tournaments'.

When does the registration period stop ? 
You can join and set up teams all the way through the season.


Playing the Game

I have submitted my team but I can't play any rounds! 
Your team does not play any rounds as such - you score points  based on the real life performance of golfers in the selected events. Your team will then be given a collective score and you will gain or lose places in your respective league.

When do I get my transfers ?
You will be given 2 transfer to use for each event which will be allocated to your team every Tuesday. Your team will be given an additional transfer (total of 3) for each bonus event listed on the 'Upcoming Tournaments' page.

There will be a break in the season for 2 weeks allowing you to pick a new team before the game resumes at the Open de France ALSTOM. During this time your team will be reset and the free transfer window will open allowing you to make a wholesale change to your team.

Normal transfer allocation of weekly transfers will resume after this break in the season.

Can I transfer players between tournaments ?
All transfers must be made by 17.00 GMT/BST the day before each event begins, to be eligible to score points for that event. Any players transferred after this time will not score points until the next event they play in. Time of transfers will be recorded as per the server clock (displayed in the top right hand side of the screen).

What happens if a player is injured and does not play ?
If the player does not play and events you will no longer receive points for that player - transfer him!

Can you tell me who runs team xxxxxxxxx ? 
If a user displays their name on their personal manager avatar you will be able to see who they are. However, when users sign up we promise that we will not pass their details on to anyone - so we will not give out any information relating to who runs any team.

Can I change my team name ?
Yes you can. You can do this by choosing 'Change Team Name' on the team page. Please note: we reserve the right to change team names that may be considered offensive.

How do I change my personal details/password ?
You can change your details by updating the 'my details' page which you can find on the team page once logged on.

I don't want to play any more. How do I delete my team ?
We cannot delete teams. If you no longer wish to play the game you can contact us to unsubscribe from our database.

How do I claim my prize? 
We will contact winners within a 28 day period of them winning. If there is a tie the manager that joined first will be deemed the winner. All weekly prizes must be claimed by checking the leaderboards printed each Tuesday in The Scotsman.

 Point Scoring

Why have I not scored any points ?
Your team, and any transfers must be submitted by 17.00 BST/GMT (according to the server clock - displayed on the homepage) the day before the event.

You will only score points for the players in your team. If a player does not compete in the event they will score no points.

When do the points get updated ? 
We will update points within a 48 hour period of each tournament ending.

Will scores change because of reversed decisions? 
To keep this game as up to date as possible we will use the results that all the original news agencies report. If there are reverse decisions or the results are reported differently after the initial report we will NOT change the original score reported.

How do I change my Captain ?
You can change your Captain by transferring the current captain player out of your team - you will then be asked to select a different player to be your Captain. If no captain is chosen, no player will receive double points!

 Mini-Leagues

Am I in a league? 
Yes. Everybody automatically enters the World League, where all teams compete against each other.

Each team will also be automatically entered into a Golf Club league depedant on which golf club you told us that you are a member of during registration for the game.

You can also set up a 'Mini-League' where you can play a group of friends or colleagues - this can be found under League Admin under the Leagues section of the website, once you have logged on. 

Can I move Mini-Leagues? 
Unfortunately no. You can however create (be the chairman of) 3 mini-leagues and participate in up to 10 mini-leagues in total.

Can I join a Mini-League or Golf Club league mid season ? 
You may register your mini-league up until 23.59 (UK time) on 5th April 2009 for the spring league and 23.59 (UK time) on 12th August 2009 for the summer/autumn league. Your team will keep any points etc. that it has earned to date. Remember, once in a private mini-league your team cannot leave that private mini-league. 

After these deadlines teams will not be able to change Golf Club leagues. Only new registrants can enter a Golf Club league after this date.

I have entered my team into a Mini-League but I can't see it ! 
The site updates periodically, so you may not be able to see your team in a Mini-League straight away. Once the site has updated your team will show in your mini-league list. Only teams that have been submitted will be shown in Mini-Leagues. 

How do I change the personal details of my Mini-League ?
You can change your mini-league details by using the 'Mini-League Admin' under the 'League' section of the site, once you have logged on. Remember, you will only be permitted to change these details if you are the creator of the Mini-League.
